Alhambra Game App Reviews

I saw the board version of this game is considered a classic so I bought the digital version to check it out. Seems decent but all three games Ive played have crashed. Id stay away from this game until the developers fix it. This is on an iPhone 6 Plus and an iPad mini btw.

DO NOT BUY! The one thing Queen Games is really good at is making average apps out of awesome games. Queen Games will not update or continue to improve the app. They are terrible. All other Euro style games have 4.5+ stars. Queen Games average 2.5.

New to this game, but loving it - no crashes here on iPad Air 2. Queen just updated the game with 4 expansions (most excited for The Change expansion). Great gameplay, great tutorial and super fun to play! Looking forward to getting better so I can beat my partner :-)

This is a fun game, but there have always been issues with the interface. This is mostly with the online play. I now have to add crashing to its problems. The game ran fine on my 4 and 5 and iPads, but is crashing constantly on my 6+. It has been in need of an update for a long time. Well the update came the other day and it was useless. Instead of fixing the problems and making the game compatible with the newer software, it just added some in app purchases. They could not even do this right either. You cant even access the in app purchases, they do not show up anywhere in the game! Not that I would have purchased them, not until they do a real update to stop the crashing. Its such a shame cuz the game is really fun. I would give it 5 stars if it worked.

Alhambra is one of my favorite lightweight boardgames. This app for it is decent, I love the 3D aspect, the interface is a bit clunky and unintuitive but works fine once you get used to its limitations. I havent experienced much of the crashing others are reporting and Im on a very dated iPad mini. I was really excited that there are now expansions available but theyre currently bugged and dont show as available to purchase, hope that is fixed soon.

Ipad 3. Changed to a different app, and when Alhambra regained focus, it reset my game. I played another game, and it crashed on the last turn. Just awful.

Saw this game on TableTop, thought it looked interesting. Learning to play it but have played 4 games now, none to completion due to game randomly crashing. No way to continue either. Very frustrating.

Cant buy the extensions the update was for. Would stay away from this app until another update and proven fix. Typical of Queen games apps.

iPad Air, no other apps running. Have not been able to complete a game yet - three tries, three crashes. [edit] since those three initial crashes, I have had zero problems. As for online play, its okay but needs configurable time limits and notifications support. I have no idea what some other posters are talking about when that complain about incorrect implementation of some rules. They are perfect, except that 74 cards are used in two-player games when it should be 72. [edit] just got the latest update. Where are the extensions?

I know stuff happens but how about a little blurb in the update stating "the extensions arent available yet, weve got a hotfix in route." As it stands it feels like somebody Queen Games uploaded this and then headed off on vacation never bothering to see if everything uploaded to the App Store properly.

App seems to be a decent port of the table top game, but a patch is definitely needed. Installed it, and have yet to finish 5 games due to crashing in usually the 3rd scoring phase. Please fix!

Wow... I didnt listen to other reviewers and bought the game. Interface was not good... but got it figured out, and worked fine. That is... until it crashed before end of game - just like numerous other reviews stated. How they can continue charging for this is beyond belief... FIX THIS GAME!

I would like to buy them but all I get is a blank grey canvas where the in-app purchases should be. iPad Air 2, iOS 9.3.

I was psyched to play on my iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 9.3), but my experience so far has been bitter. Every single time that Im doing well, without fail the game will crash. If Im losing, it runs smoothly through the final scoring, but if Im doing well, or even winning? It crashes. Every. Single. Time. Im not paranoid, and not delusional: the game will crash rather than let me win, no bulls**t.

I enjoy Alhambra the board game so I decided to buy this app. Unfortunately the app always quits and you never complete a game. I have wanted to be fair so thought I would wait to review. I have tried 25 times now and the same results. The longest game was just after the second scoring card appeared. It is annoying and frustrating! Please fix this app!! I would like to say that playing on the iPad, (older model ipad2) this game is great! No extensions but also no crashes! I am still unable to complete a game on my phone! Cannot justify giving this app more then 3 stars for that reason. I will upgrade my review when this app gets a proper upgrade!!

I was excited to play this game. I have only tried single player games but I have yet to be able to complete a game as it crashes every time. Its also disappointing that if you close the app your current game progress is lost. Until they fix some of these issues I wouldnt recommend buying the game.

I played this game frequently before the March 25 update. It wasnt perfect but it was playable. Now there are in-app purchases that cant be accessed. Maybe thats actually an upgrade? Anyway, the UI was tweaked, mostly in bad ways. Important aspects like buttons shrank, making a game without an undo button even more unfortunate. But worst of all: this game likes to zoom *way* in on the tile tableau. Before the update you could just zoom out at game start and it would be fine, but now the zoom resets every turn. It might seem minor, but its the minor UI frustrations that will push me (and Im sure others) away from a game already plagued with problems.

I cant finish a game!! It crashes right before the scoring every time. Also you can finish the tutorial. Dont buy!! Its not worth it to never end the game.
